A former consultant for David Letterman’s film and production company dropped his breach-of-contract lawsuit alleging the firm owed him at least $280,000 after he stopped receiving payments under his contract.

Lawyers for television czar Lee Gabler filed a request for dismissal of his case against Worldwide Pants Inc. with Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Johnson on Oct. 25. The request was made “without prejudice,” meaning the lawsuit can be brought again.

Patricia Glaser, one of Gabler’s lawyers, said no settlement was reached in the lawsuit, which was filed last November.

Gabler is the former co-chairman of Creative Artists Agency. He left CAA in 2007 left for Worldwide Pants and five years later signed another deal under which the company agreed to pay him $106,000 per month, the suit stated.

Gabler did what was expected of him under his agreement with Worldwide Pants and he had a “good working relationship” with the company and Letterman, according to his lawsuit.

The contract was scheduled to last at least 30 days after through the last episode of CBS’ “The Late Show with David Letterman,” which aired in May 2015. But Worldwide Pants stopped paying Gabler without warning a month before the final show, according to his lawsuit.
