Rapper/actor Omar Epps and his wife, Keisha, were sued Thursday by a former nanny who allege she is owed back wages.
Alba E. Hernandez, who worked for the couple from October 2007 until October 2015, filed the complaint in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleging various employment law violations. She seeks unspecified damages.
A representative for the Epps could not be immediately reached.
The suit states that Hernandez looked after the couple’s children, performed errands for the Epps and cared for the family pets.
However, she was not classified as an hourly employee and was denied overtime, the suit alleges. Hernandez should have been paid $65,000 annually given the hours she worked, the complaint states.
Hernandez also maintains she was not given accurate and complete pay stubs.
Epps, 43, has had film roles in “Major League II” and “Juice.” Keisha Epps was a member of the R&B group Total.
